Sleep

The average person spends about 26 years of their life sleeping. 26 years of time where we are immobile, eyes closed, and not awake. 26 years of time that is doing something humans need to do, sleep. Sleep is a constant, daily, occurrence that any bipod who calls themselves a human must perform in order to recharge and enter the next day. Since sleep is needed, there are ways to make the most of it so you can still achieve everything you want to during the day. The average person sleeps 26 hours of their life sleeping, why be average? You have one life. Sleep less and find more time.

Running on periods of bad sleep can change the outcome and performance of your days. The body needs sleep to rest, recharge, and recover. If your sleep schedule has days of 10 hours of sleep, 6 hours, and 8 hours, all in a row, you will undoubtedly feel groggy. The body runs on a schedule and the sleep schedule is one of the most important. Each night of sleep is an opportunity to train your body’s habit of sleep so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to attack the next day. Life is full of changes but the sleeping habit you practice is one that is very anti-frequent change. Once you find a schedule that works for you, trying to stick to it will promote better rest and the following day.

Sleeping roughly a third of your lifetime is an easy way to not maximize every moment you have on Earth. The body does not need 8 or 9 hours of sleep every night to function at a high level. The body is highly adaptable and will quickly adjust to a sleep schedule of sleeping fewer hours if you are consistent with the practice. Imagine how much extra work you could do if you slept 2 fewer hours a day. Imagine how much better at a skill you could get if you slept 2 fewer hours a day. If you think you do not have enough time to get everything done in a day, you can probably find hours during the time you would otherwise be sleeping. Getting up at 6 am or staying up until midnight are prime examples of times when you would normally just sleep. If you are awake during those times, you can push to achieve.

Use sleep, do not let it use you. You can free yourself if you adjust your sleep habits to mirror what you want your next day to be like. Aim for consistency with your sleep patterns to consistently improve in all aspects of your life. Sleep less to find time to win more.
