The Game of Life

The other worlds you can travel to in video games are more realistic than ever before. The technology and ability video game studios have produces ultra-realistic experiences for any age to enjoy. From story-based mythical games, to open-world multiplayer games, to sporting and racing-based games, there are games for any interest to be played. Each game has a purpose, a goal, and a series of advancements. When you complete one step, you can move on to the next. Each game has a reason for playing. But the biggest and most complex game of all is the Game of Life. The biggest difference between the Game of Life and video games that can be played is there are no respawns, you have one life to live. When that is done, you are done on Earth.

When life is treated like a game it becomes easier to track progress and advance to the next level. Think of a video game where you play as a character and have to progress through different levels. As you progress you can upgrade different aspects of your character. Skills like: attack, defense, strength, magic, speed, awareness, and so many more, are common traits characters in video games have. As the player, you are able to upgrade all of them. In many cases, upgrades are required to be able to move on to the next level. That next level will be more difficult and require even more upgrades.

This philosophy can be directly applied to the game of life. In the Game of Life, we are all the main characters in our own lives. Instead of thinking in terms of video game skills, you can upgrade so many different hobbies and skills in real life. Social skills, resilience, critical thinking, determination, writing, and any number of hobbies can all be improved. The beauty of the Game of Life is since we are the main character, we have the opportunity to choose which skills, passions, and hobbies we pursue. We have the ability to progress through the levels of life based on our interests and where we spend our time. We can keep leveling up as we play through the Game of Life.

Just like any video game, life always presents us with other obstacles to overcome and other problems to solve. You cannot master the Game of Life, you can only keep going and continuing to level up. Level by level you become better at creating the life you want to live. By opting in to play the Game of Life you are choosing against staying stagnant and stuck in the same place and are instead choosing to chase after that next level or opportunity. The Game of Life is the long game and the only game that matters. Learn to play it.
